James Naish Los Angeles, b. 1980

"Working primarily in metal, James draws inspiration from geological formations, organic growth, and the slow accumulation of matter found throughout the natural world."

James Naish is an artist and designer working primarily in metal across jewelry, furniture, sculpture, and large-scale public projects. His practice engages techniques of welding, forging, and casting to render botanical and organic forms that shift between abstraction and figuration, ornament and function. He has exhibited widely in Los Angeles-including Rhett Baruch Gallery, The Feel, and Marta-and has completed commissions for The Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, The Natural History Museum, Descanso Gardens, and The Trust for Public Land. His work has been featured in Wallpaper Magazine, The World of Interiors, and The New York Times.
